I am 5’8 and wear a size 22 in most jeans/pants. Usually I get a 2X in pants. I had those in a size 3X and they were a little baggy. These are a closer fit. I’d say if you don’t want them unbearably tight to order a size up. But, otherwise, the material is not itchy or stiff and they look almost exactly like my old navy shorts for a better price. The waistband stretches but the material of the shorts do not. I will be ordering again in other colors :)
